Open Lot presents Printervention, an exhibition and public art project
inspired by cultural programs created through FDR’s New Deal and The
Works Progress Administration. It underscores the necessity for public
support of artists and raises awareness of the social and political
issues of our day. Printervention debuted in Chicago in the Spring of
2010 as part of the Version Festival. The Nashville exhibition will
include work presented in the inaugural exhibition supplemented with
printmaking demonstrations and collaborations and include additional
works by Tennessee printers Christopher Cheney, Mark Hosford, Jennifer
Leach, Bryce McCloud, Bethany Taylor, Ericka Walker, and Yee-Haw
Industries.
Following the opening reception, music by ttotals, CloudlandCANYON,
Black Static, and Sparkling Wide Pressure perform, beginning at 9pm.

LEAD TYPE ON UP FOR AUCTION ON EBAY
Type from the Yee-Haw Collection is up for auction on eBay. One may wonder why we would be willing to part with this type. Well, friends, it is because we want it to have a home where will be put to use. The fonts for sale are those of which we have duplicates as well as those we haven't put to use in a while. Feel free to view and bid on these auctions here.

ROTOVISION AND CHRONICLE BOOKS RELEASE NEW BOOK SURVEYING CONTEMPORARY PRACTICES IN LETTERPRESS
Yee-Haw's own Adam Hickman Ewing prepared the foreword for a new book compiled by Charlotte Rivers, available from RotoVision as Reinventing Letterpress in the UK and from Chronicle Books as The Little Book of Letterpress in the USA. The first few pages of the book give a brief history of letterpress printing and go on to provide a layman's look into traditional and more modern printing practices. The remainder of the book spotlights the work of over 100 letterpress studios across the country and over the sea. More on the book from RotoVision can be found here.
